Badger softball splits with Nebraska

MADISON (WKOW) - The Badgers rebounded from a rough first game to salvage a split against Nebraska in the home finale at Goodman Diamond.

The Cornhuskers powered their way to a 12-0 victory over the Badgers in game one of the doubleheader. Nebraska hit three home runs, two of which were grand slams. Cassandra Darrah took the loss for Wisconsin.

The Badgers rebounded in game two. Chloe Miller started the scoring by hitting a RBI double in the first inning. The freshman also ended the scoring with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. Wisconsin prevailed 6-4 over No. 19 Nebraska. It's the Badgers' fourth win over a ranked opponent this year. Taylor-Page Stewart improved to 13-5 with the victory. The sophomore allowed four runs on 10 hits.

The Badgers will wrap up the regular season by traveling to Michigan for a three-game series beginning on Friday.
