Trempealeau Co. (News Release) - On May 1, 2014 at 8:54 p.m., Trempealeau Co. Dispatch Center received a call of a motor vehicle crash on State Road 54/35 near County Road F.
It was determined on scene that a Ford Explorer struck a tractor that was pulling a cattle feeder in the lane of traffic. Preliminary investigation on scene indicates that improper lighting on the farm machinery was a contributing factor in the crash. A passenger in the Ford Explorer, Marilyn A. Hansen, 84, of Winona, MN, was flown to a La Crosse Hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the Ford Explorer, Dale A. Fink, 51, of Trempealeau, was transported by Tri-State Ambulance to a La Crosse Hospital with severe injuries.
Assisting at the scene was the Trempealeau Police Department, Trempealeau Fire Department, Trempealeau First Responders, Tri-State Ambulance and Med Link Air. State Road 54/35 was shut down for approximately two hours during the incident.
