UW-Eau Claire asked the city council to postpone a rezoning request after neighbors near the campus voiced concern.
Monday, we told you how the university wants three state-owned houses on Roosevelt Avenue to be rezoned.
The request does not include plans for a building project right now, but the university has said the site could become the future home of a residence hall.
"I would urge us to postpone this and give the neighborhood and the university the chance, now that the conversation has started and they're aware of this a chance to work together,” said council member Kathy Mitchell.
The council will consider the rezoning request in September.
