Andersen hires Thomas as director of operations

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) - Gary Andersen is turning to a familiar face to fill an opening on his staff. The Wisconsin head football coach has hired Jason Thomas as his director of football operations. Andersen worked with Thomas at Utah State.

“Jason is perfect for this position,” Andersen said in a statement. “We worked together during my four years at Utah State and he was instrumental in the success we had there, both on and off the field. He brings a lot of experience in athletic administration, which will serve him well. Having worked with him closely, I know he will be a good fit with the young men on our team.”

Thomas graduated from Utah State in 2005. He has worked in the Aggies' athletic department the past eight years. Most recently, he was the Assistant Athletics Director. Thomas was the academic counselor for the football team for six seasons.
