Eau Claire County (WQOW) - An update on the family of bears spotted in a neighborhood south of Eau Claire Wednesday night.

The five bears were seen hanging out in a tree on Benrud Lane, off of Highway 93. Thursday, WQOW News 18 heard from the DNR which said it's aware of the situation and will likely be reaching out to the neighborhood.   A DNR representative urged neighbors to avoid feeding the animals because it's likely they'll stay instead of moving on if they know they'll have food to eat.
Eau Claire County (WQOW) -
A local neighborhood was abuzz Wednesday night as a family of bears dropped by.

Five black bears were spotted in a tree on Benrud Lane, which is south of Eau Claire off Highway 93.  Two of the bears were a little more playful, climbing up and down the tree.  The other three were relaxing.  Many people from the neighborhood came out to watch, but kept their distance.
