Packers sign four rookies, including Lyerla

Posted: Updated:
GREEN BAY (WKOW) - The Packers announced the signing of three undrafted rookies and third-round pick Khyri Thornton. The team agreed to terms with safety Charles Clay out of Hawaii, defensive end Luther Robinson out of Miami and tight end Colt Lyerla out of Oregon.

Lyerla proved to be talented and troubled in college. He parted ways with Oregon in October. Among several bumps in the road during college, Lyerla was arrested for possession of cocaine. On the field, Lyerla was considered one of the top tight end talents in this draft class. He played in 28 games with the Ducks. Lyerla caught 34 passes for 565 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Clay started six games as a senior. He had 69 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

Robinson started just one game as a senior for the Hurricanes. He notched 24 tackles and a fumble recovery.
