Camp Randall getting wired for upcoming season

MADISON (WKOW) - Camp Randall will be wired this upcoming season. Actually, it will be wireless. The University of Wisconsin announcing it will partner with AT&T to bring a new Wi-Fi network and IPTV system to Camp Randall Stadium this fall. UW Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez announced the move that will give Badger football fans greater connectivity.

"We are creating a high standard for connectivity in our stadium and providing a wide variety of additional content to our fans. We want Badger football fans to have a memorable experience in our venue and this project will go a long way toward assisting us."

Fans will now be able to connect to the Internet via 10 Gigabit switches, wireless controllers and more than 750 access points throughout the stadium. The IPTV project will provide digital content on nearly 700 high definition screens.
