Dan Schillinger was born and raised in Dunn County. He graduated from Menomonie High School a long, long time ago. After graduating from Brown College in Minneapolis, Dan worked at radio stations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, before landing his first television job at KTTC in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dan worked as an anchor and reporter at stations in Green Bay and Rapid City before moving into newsroom management. He’s served as News Director for stations in Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota, Texas, Georgia and (most recently) WQOW’s co-owned station in Waterloo, Iowa. He joined Eau Claire's Own WQOW News 18 in June 2014.
Dan has won numerous journalism awards during his career, including an Emmy for Best Evening Newscast and awards for his coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.
He and his wife, Mary, who also graduated from Menomonie High, are glad to be back home in western Wisconsin.
