LA CROSSE (WKOW) - The state's best high school track and field athletes had to battle each other and the elements on day one. A storm forced a two-hour delay between the Division 1 and Division 2/3 events.

Several local athletes notched state championships on Friday. Monroe's Ethan Moehn was a double-winner. He took home the title in the 1600 meters with a meet record time of 4:09. His teammate Jake Hirsbrunner finished second. Moehn also won the 800 meters with Hirsbrunner running third.

The Dodgeville/Mineral Point 3200 meters girls relay team took home the gold with a 9:22.67.

Amy Davis of Madison Edgewood won the 3200 meters.
