Wife airlifted after hitting her husband's motorcycle in Rusk County

Rusk County (WQOW)  A woman, on a motorcycle, is airlifted to an Eau Claire hospital after crashing into her husband's motorcycle.

The State Patrol says the crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. Sunday on Highway 40 at the intersection of Highway A in Rusk County.
Both motorcycles were heading southbound on Highway 40 when the husband, on the lead bike, slowed to make a turn. His wife was not able to slow down in time and hit his motorcycle from behind. The State Patrol says she was thrown from the motorcycle and airlifted to the hospital.

She is said to have non-life threatening injuries. Her husband was not seriously hurt.
Both were wearing helmets. The State Patrol says the couple is in their 70's and from New Auburn.

News Release At 4:09 PM on Sunday June 08, 2014 a crash occurred on WIS 40 SB at County Highway A in RUSK County near BRUCE.
Assisting agencies included Rusk County Sheriff’s Department, Bruce Fire Department, Ladysmith Ambulance, and Bruce Ambulance.
The crash involved 02 injuries.
The details of the crash are as follows:
On June 8, 2014, at approximately 4:11 p.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol and Rusk County Sheriff’s
Department responded to a crash involving two motorcycles on Highway 40 at the intersection of
County Highway A. Both motorcycles were traveling southbound on Highway 40 when the lead
motorcycle slowed down to make an eastbound turn onto County A. The motorcycle that was
following was not able to slow down in time and struck the lead motorcycle in the rear. The driver of
that motorcycle was thrown from the vehicle and was air-lifted to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire for
further medical treatment. Both drivers were wearing helmets. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
