Badger men's basketball team adds two walk-ons

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) - Bo Ryan officially rounded out his incoming freshman class by announcing the addition of two in-state products as walk-ons. Matt Ferris and T.J. Schlundt will join the Badgers in the fall.

Schlundt turned down scholarship offers from St. Joseph's, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, Drake and Northern Kentucky to walk on at Wisconsin. The 6'5", 200-pounder averaged 16.1 points per game as a junior at Oconomowoc before finishing his prep career at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy. At St. John's, Schlundt pumped in 17.5 points per contest. His father, Terrell, was a four-year starter at Marquette.

Ferris was a standout on the court and the gridiron. He set state records as a quarterback. However, he will continue his athletic career on the court after averaging 14.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game as a senior at Xavier High School in Appleton.
