Posted: Updated:
MADISON, WI -- The town of Ithaca, WI has a population of less than 800 people. Still, fans showed up to Goodman Diamond in Madison in droves Friday as the Bulldogs made their first ever appearance in the state softball tournament.

Ithaca lost 4-1 to Cochrane-Fountain City in the division four semifinals.

The Bulldogs gave up a big third inning, and the Pirates quickly took a 4-0 lead. The Bulldogs scored their first and only run in the seventh inning from a base hit by Lacey Olson.

The Ithaca baseball team will compete in the state tournament in Appleton, WI next week.
