JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville police arrest two men as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

The Janesville Police Department Street Crimes Unit (SCU) had been looking into a man named Raymond Davis for possibly distributing narcotics in and around Janesville. On Sunday, SCU officers saw Davis leaving a Janesville motel in a vehicle. Officers stopped Davis around 9:45 p.m. in the area of the 1600 block of Morningside Drive for equipment and driving violations.

Officers say Davis fled the vehicle on foot. SCU officers and patrol officers set up a perimeter, and were able to apprehend Davis in the 1400 block of Morningside Drive.

A K9 officer, Karo, was deployed to do an exterior sniff of Davis' vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert. Officers searched the vehicle and seized 174.5 total grams of prepackaged THC and articles of drug paraphernalia.

SCU officers continued their investigation, which led to a search warrant being executed at an area motel. Joseph Ecker, an occupant of a motel room, was found to be in possession of 13 grams of THC and prescription medications. He was arrested.

Davis, 21, is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver/THC, Deliver of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Drug Vehicle. Ecker, 24, of Wellesley, Massachusetts is charged with Possession THC (Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Prescription Medications.
