Dunn Co. (News Release) - UPDATE: The victim of the crash that occurred on June 19 at State Rd 25 and County Highway D has been identified as 55-year-old Hong Rost of rural Colfax, WI.

Rost worked as the director of international education at UW-Stout.  UW-Stout issued the following statement Friday morning:

“Our hearts and prayers go out to Hong’s family and friends,” said UW-Stout Chancellor Charles Sorensen. “She was a tremendous advocate for UW-Stout on the international stage. But more than that, she was a true friend and valued colleague. Her loss will be felt throughout campus.”

“Hong was a valued colleague and friend,” said Vice Chancellor Jacalyn Weissenburger. “We all are grieving with Hong’s family and will do everything possible to help them during this difficult time.

“Hong worked tirelessly to bring more international students to UW-Stout and to develop more travel-abroad opportunities,” Weissenburger said. “Her efforts have had immeasurable impact on scores of students and faculty at UW-Stout. Through her leadership, our graduates are better prepared for careers in a globalized society.

According to UW-Stout, Rost was with the university for about four years. In that time, the university says the number of international students increased from 152 to 295.
