Cadott School District announces new superintendent

Cadott (News Release) - With a unanimous vote at a special meeting held on Monday, June 23, 2014, the Board of Education hired Damon Smith as the next superintendent of the Cadott Community School District.

Mr. Smith, 48, will begin his new position on July 1st. Mr. Smith comes to Cadott with 25 years of experience as a middle/high school Technology Education teacher and district office administrator responsible for technology, curriculum, staff development, and assessment.

“I am humbled and honored to have been chosen as the next superintendent of the Cadott Community School District and looking forward to working together to continue challenging students to reach their full potential,” said Smith.

Mr. Smith becomes only the sixth superintendent in the history of the Cadott Community School District, which dates back to Norman Panzenhagen who served as the first superintendent of Cadott from 1948-1973. Joseph Zydowsky, Cadott’s superintendent since 2009, was recently hired as superintendent of the Menomonie Area School District.

The Cadott Community School District will host a “meet and greet” for Mr. Smith open to all school district residents, parents, staff members and students in the Cadott High School Commons from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16.
