OSHKOSH (WKOW) -- Three people are seriously injured after they were hit by a pick-up truck near the Country USA music festival in Oshkosh.

Police say a 23-year-old Waushara County man was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.  A 20-year-old Winnebago County woman and a 22-year-old Marquette County man were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

According to our affiliate, WBAY, the crash happened around 10 p.m. on S. Washburn Road which is close to Ford Festival Park where Country USA was finishing up the first day of the festival.

The driver was questioned by police.  Police are warning people that you must be careful around Country USA, especially after dark.

Previous years, police have told WBAY that an estimated 3,000 people walk to-and-from Country USA every night.  This year, more people are walking since good parking is hard to find during wet conditions.

This is not the first serious accident at Country USA. In 2011, a man was hit and killed while crossing Highway 41 during Country USA to get to a campsite.
