TOWN OF PRIMROSE (WKOW) -- A 27-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, officials responded to a report of a vehicle on its roof on State Highway 92 south of Mt. Vernon at 5:31 a.m.
Investigation of the crash showed that the driver was traveling south on the highway when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the road and rolled before landing 50 feet off the road in a creek area of a farm field.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt and airbags did not deploy. Both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation. The name of the driver is not being released at this time until family is notified.
