UPDATE: Fitchburg bicyclist found Monday, died Thursday

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- According to a death notice from Gunderson Funeral and Cremation Care, Robert "Rob" H. Lucas, 59, died Thursday.


FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Fitchburg police tell 27 News a missing bicyclist has been found in Lake Farm County Park in Madison Monday morning.

Police say he left on the trip on his own.

He had no life-threatening injuries but was taken to a hospital for evaluation.


Fitchburg police say as of Monday morning, there is still no sign of a missing bicyclist.

Robert Lucas, 59, went for a bike ride and was last seen Sunday around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Byrne Road and Syene Road. Lt. Todd Stetzer tells 27 News they think Lucas may have had a medical emergency. They have been checking the roads and ditches near where he was last seen, but have found no sign of him. Many leads have come into the police department, but none have led police to Lucas.

Lucas was riding a blue and black Orbia bike.

Police are asking the public to help in finding him. See below for his description and call (608) 270-4300 if you see any sign of Lucas or his bicycle.

Robert Lucas was last seen riding his bicycle around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Byrne Rd. and Syene Rd.

Robert is approximately 5'9", 175 lbs. with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a bike shirt with red sleeves, black biking shorts, black shoes, and a bicycle helmet. He was riding a blue and black bicycle.
