July Jamboree intended to help parents become more self-sufficient

MADISON (WKOW) – There is a local program to help unemployed or underemployed people with children become more self-sufficient.

Forward Service Corporation in Dane County is the agency responsible for the Wisconsin Works program which is located in 41 counties throughout the state.

The Dane County office organizes quarterly events including one July 18th. They’re calling it the July Jamboree.

The event will be located at Reindahl Park at 1818 Portage Road from 10:00am-2:00pm.

Event organizers are inviting local businesses to come and help people apply for jobs. The event is free and open to anyone who wants to join. There will be food, drinks and entertainment for children.
