Eau Claire hosts U.S. National Kubb Championships

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire’s Soccer Park was packed with players today, not for a soccer game but for a game that can be played in your front yard.

Saturday, was the first day of the U.S. National Kubb Championships.

More than 80 teams came to Eau Claire to show off their skill and have a good time. This is the eighth year of the tournament.

"This is the biggest Kubb tournament outside of Europe,” said tournament director Eric Anderson. “It's one of three two day tournaments in the world. I think it's one of the top five or six biggest tournaments in the world as well and it's all right here in Eau Claire"

Sunday morning begins championship day with the quarterfinals starting at 9 in the morning.
