WAUSAU (WAOW) – Methamphetamine and heroin worth about $10,000 were seized in a search of a Wausau home that led to the arrest of six men, the Marathon County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday.
When officers arrived on scene, two of the suspects fled through windows and doors and were chased down, Lt. Gary Schneck said.
Tuesday night's raid, conducted by the department's special investigations unit after complaints the home was being run as a drug house, occurred in the 200 block of Chellis Street, he said.
The six people arrested ranged in age from 23 to 47 and included a 31-year-old Rhinelander man and the home's owner, investigators said. Four of the suspects were arrested on drug-related charges and two were arrested on probation holds.
“These guys, a lot of them are users and sellers. They are well known to law enforcement,” Schneck said.
The lieutenant characterized the amount of drugs seized as significant for the Wausau area.
The drugs included 45.1 grams of meth, 2.8 grams of heroin and 11 grams of marijuana.
