UPDATE: Police searching for suspect involved in fight

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Detectives say an incident that resulted in two injured by gunshots was a 'targeted act of violence.'

According to the City of Madison Police Department, the suspect is described as a heavy-set black man who is 6-feet-tall and 20-years-old.

Police ask that anyone with suspect information call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.


MADISON (WKOW) -- Two people were injured during a fight in Madison Wednesday night.

According to the Madison Police Department, officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving 7 to 9 people at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.  While going to the incident on the 3000 block of Worthington Avenue, the incident was upgraded to a physical fight and shots being fired.

Police say a 20-year-old man had a gunshot wound on his arm and an 18-year-old woman suffered a grazing wound to the head.  Both victims were treated at the hospital.

The investigation is still on-going.  Police are searching for a suspect that was described by the victims.
