Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Express pitcher CJ Eldred does not have to go far for advice on pitching in the Northwoods League. All it takes is a call home.

Eldred's father, Cal, was drafted by the Brewers in 1989 and spent nine of his 14 professional season in Milwaukee. CJ Eldred is looking for a similar career. He's been solid this season for Eau Claire, sporting a 2-3 record with a 3.62 ERA. CJ Eldred says his father has helped him adapt to the competition in the Northwoods League.

"He helps me a lot. He helped me when I found out I was going to be a starter up here. He help me put together a program or schedule, a routine for in-between starts. He lets me know what I should be doing everyday and he's been through it, so he's a great guy to ask," says Eldred. "He helps me a lot with my game plan before each game. You know, It's a grind in this league and he just helps a lot on how to go about that and how to make it easier on yourself."
