Terence Doddy charged with second killing

ROCKFORD (Ill.) -- The man accused of killing a high school friend was charged Tuesday in a second northern Illinois killing.

Prosecutors in Lee County, Illinois, filed 12 murder counts against 36-year-old Terrence Doddy, of Rockford. Tonya Bargman, 44, was killed July 1.

Other charges include robbery, concealment of a homicidal death and possession of a stolen motor vehicle and credit card.

Doddy is accused of asphyxiating Bargman at a rest stop at Paw Paw, along Interstate 39.

Doddy already was charged in Winnebago County for the June 30 killing of 37-year-old Rockford insurance salesman Todd Hansmeier, who was found dead of head and neck injuries.

Doddy was arrested July 4 after a police chase near Beloit, Wisconsin. Authorities say he was driving Bargman's car. Hansmeier's car was found abandoned at the rest stop where Bargman's body was found.

Doddy has pleaded not guilty in Winnebago County and is to be arraigned Wednesday in Lee County.

He remains jailed without bond.
