COPY-Packers fans fill Lambeau Field for annual shareholders meeting

Almost 15,000 fans from across the country filled Lambeau Field today for the Packers annual shareholder meeting.

Packers fans are pretty serious about their support of the green and gold, but one fan may top them all.

"My name is Packer Klein," said Packer Klein of Tucson, A.Z.

Newsline 9 saw his license to prove it.

"Ray Nitschke actually had a big part in deciding my name,” said Klein. “My dad met him across the fence one time."

Now, the fan from Arizona wants to own more than just the name.

"I just thought it'd be amazing and look really cool that Packer is an owner of one share of the Green Bay Packers," said Klein.

Klein is one of the thousands who filled Lambeau Field at the meeting.

"Being a fan and saying you own a piece of the Packers, I mean there's no other sports team you can say that about," said Pete Johnson of Denver, C.O.

In the meeting, Packers president Mark Murphy was there to transition from the football to the fiscal side of things.

"I mean that's one of the things we want to see, you know what's reaction from fans across the league," said Murphy.

The team's revenue is up, and so are their expenses. But they still managed a net income of $26 million.

"My first time here it still gives me the jitters,” said Klein. “Well not here at Lambeau but for a shareholders meeting. I'm extremely excited for the upcoming season."

Murphy also said even though ticket prices are 17th in the league, the team is ranked ninth in the league for total revenue.
