Wisconsin GOP reaching out to African-American voters

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW) is making a concerted effort to reach out to African-American voters this election season.

The RPW announced the creation of its African American Engagement Advisory Council Tuesday.

Party leaders say the council is part of the Republican effort to build support for Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisconsin) in the African-American community.

In addition to the unprecedented investment by the Republican Party of Wisconsin to build support in communites like never before, the Advisory Council will help guide our efforts and spread our positive message across Wisconsin," said Gerard Randall, Chair of the RPW's African-American Council.  "Together, we'll continue having conversations and building support within our local communities as we move Wisconsin forward under Gov. Scott Walker."
