Slender Man stabbing suspect found not competent to stand trial

WAUKESHA (WKOW) -- One of two 12-year-old girls who stabbed a classmate in Waukesha has been found mentally unstable to stand trial.

Friday morning, after reading doctor's reports, a judge declared the girl incompetent and ordered her committed for treatment.

The girl and the other suspect are being charged as adults for plotting to kill a former friend to win favor with Slender Man, a character in online horror stories.  According to court documents, the two girls lured the victim into a wooded area and stabbed her 19 times.

The girls' attorneys hope to have the cases moved to juvenile court, where more mental health services may be available.
