Burnett Co. (WQOW) - A woman from Polk County is being charged with hiring to have a man killed.

Kimberly Ward, from Clayton, has been charged with soliciting murder in Burnett County. A man told deputies that Ward had contacted him, asking him to kill a man with whom she'd had an abusive relationship.  Deputies sent the man back to Ward with a recording device, and according to court documents, Ward was taped saying, "Yes, I want this done." In exchange, Ward reportedly gave the man 12 Vicodin pills.

Court records show Ward's son, Aaron Holmstrom, offered to drive the getaway car in the planned murder. He's in jail right now, but no charges have been filed against him.
