Eau Claire (WQOW) - Hundreds flocked to downtown Eau Claire for a day full of festivities.
Downtown Eau Claire Incorporated’s annual Summer Fest drew in several thousand people, checking out activities, like a classic car show and wood carving.
Last year, DECI showcased the festival on a smaller scale because of road construction on South Barstow Street. And, just a few blocks away, at Wilson Park, you could find Chalkfest.
Salina Heller, from Downtown Eau Claire, Inc., said, "They have artists from all over the region, coming in and creating beautiful artwork for the sidewalks. And, it's so neat to watch them do it, and then come back later and see all the wonderful masterpieces that they've created. It really is amazing."
Unfortunately, with Saturday afternoon's rain, there probably isn't much left to see. About 150 artists from Menomonie, Chippewa Falls, and even Chicago, took part in the sidewalk spectacle.
