TOWNSHIP OF DELTON (WKOW) – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, officials went to County Highway BD at Penny Lane at 3:33 a.m. after getting a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, a 31-year-old man was found in the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation shows the man was walking south on County Highway BD in the lane of traffic when he was hit by a southbound vehicle. Officials have not released the names of the pedestrian or the driver of the vehicle. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor with the driver of the vehicle.

The crash continues to be under investigation.
