Former officer faces more charges related to the suitcase bodies

Posted: Updated:

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- More charges are expected in the case of a former West Allis police officer accused of hiding two bodies in suitcases, discovered along a rural highway in Walworth County in June.

Steven Zelich's attorney says his client is to appear in a Kenosha County courtroom Tuesday afternoon for an initial appearance.  That's when Zelich will learn the charges against him, according to attorney Jonathan Smith.

Zelich (52) has been charged in Walworth County with 2 counts of hiding a corpse.  He's next due in Walworth County court in September.

Walworth County authorities previously stated 19-year-old Jenny Gamez, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, died in Kenosha County and the expected homicide charges to be filed there.
