Train collision with vehicle in Pepin Co.


Pepin Co. Sheriff’s Dept. (Press Release) – On Friday, Aug. 8, shortly after 8 p.m., a train collided with a motor vehicle approximately 1 mile north of the Village of Stockholm near the STH 35 and Cemetery Road in southern Pepin County. 

The collision occurred on a private driveway that crosses the railroad tracks. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital with unknown but believed to be non-life threatening injuries. 

The Pepin County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the Burlington Northern Railroad with the investigation. Assisting at the scene was the Pepin Ambulance, Lund Fire Department, Lund First Responders, Pepin Fire, Pepin Police Department and Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
