UPDATE: One dead after motorcycle crash on beltline
UPDATE (WKOW) -- The driver in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning on the beltline near Monona Drive was killed, according to police.
The crash investigation shows the driver was operating the motorcycle at high speeds and lost control after changing lanes, according to a Monona Police Department news release. The driver then struck the rear of another vehicle. The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No one else was injured.
The name of the motorcycle driver is being held pending notification of family.
MADISON (WKOW)--The westbound beltline from Monona Road to South Towne Drive is now reopened after being shut down after a motorcycle crash Sunday morning.
Monona police say they were called to the scene around 12:40 Sunday morning. The motorcycle driver involved in the crash was injured but no other details have been released.
The accident has been cleared and all lanes are open again.
