HAPPENING TODAY: Voters head to the polls to select candidates for November's general election
(WQOW) - Voters head to the polls Tuesday to select candidates for the November general election.
There are a number of statewide races: Brett Hulsey is challenging Democratic candidate for governor Mary Burke. The winner faces Governor Scott Walker in November. There are also primaries for attorney general, secretary of state and other races.
Three Republicans, including Karen Mueller of Chippewa Falls, are seeking the chance to challenge western Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind.
There's also a Democratic primary for Sean Duffy's congressional seat.
Voters will choose candidates for several state Senate and Assembly seats, including the contest for Kathleen Vinehout's seat.
And there are sheriff's primaries in Dunn, Trempealeau, and Clark counties.
