DODGEVILLE (WKOW) -- Dodgeville-based Lands' End is in hot water because of a free magazine sent to customers.

According to the New York Times, as part of a deal with publisher Conde Nast, Lands' End sent a free issue of GQ magazine with a cover that included a nearly-topless model wearing only a lei.

Some people were offended by the racy picture and complained on the company's Facebook page.

Lands' End's chief executive Edgar Huber apologized in an email to customers. The Times article quotes part of the message in which Huber says, "There are simply no excuses; this was a mistake."

The company said it switched customers from the GQ subscription list to the list for Conde Nast Traveler.
