Man threatens Governor Walker's son via twitter

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A Milwaukee man is charged with sending threatening tweets to one of Governor Walker's sons.

A criminal complaint says a 31-year-old man sent 36 tweets to 20-year-old Matthew Walker.

The messages included racial slurs, obscene remarks and a physical threat. The suspect told police he does not know Matthew Walker, but directed the tweets at him because he dislikes the governor.

"I asked for the job so there's obviously things like this that come with it,” said Governor Walker. “It's unfortunate when someone takes out things on not myself, but on my wife or my sons. I think anybody as a parent can certainly share my concern that I have and I’m just thankful that law enforcement took it seriously and are doing something about it."

The man is charged with four misdemeanor counts of sending threatening computer messages.
