NEW YORK (WKOW) -- It's time to check your cabinets -- peanut and almond butters sold at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are being recalled.

The recall comes from nSpired Natural Foods, Inc. because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The company says it learned of the risk after routine testing by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA says it does not know how many jars of the butters were recalled.

The recalled products were sold under the brand names Arrowhead Mills Peanut Butters, MaraNatha Almond Butters and Peanut Butters, and private label brands for Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Kroger and Safeway.

The FDA says shoppers can contact the company at 1-800-937-7008 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. CST for a replacement or refund.
