Beloit man killed by hammer-like weapon

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Rock Co. Coroner's Office tells 27 News Bruce Hemmy died from massive blood loss due to blunt force trauma to the head consistent with being hit by a hammer.

Hemmy's son, Peter, is a suspect in the death and is tentatively set to be charged in Rock County court on Wednesday afternoon.

Beloit Police say Peter Hemmy came to the police station early Monday morning and said he was turning himself in for a crime. He state his father was dead inside their Sunshine Lane home and implicated himself in the death.

Police say they found 58-year-old Bruce Hemmy at the home and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
