Eau Claire (WQOW) – Futons, folders, and freshmen: it's in with the new at UW-Eau Claire today. First years from around the world settled into their dorms today.
"It's great to study abroad and find out different cultures and see how other countries study and stuff," Michael Thomas, a freshman study-abroad student says.
4,000 students are set to fill the rooms of the university's eleven dorms this weekend. Today was move-in day for freshman, and starting tomorrow upper classmen will move in as well. Students will have the weekend to familiarize themselves with the campus and attend Cube Fest, the school's welcoming activities, before classes start on Tuesday.
