Wisconsin Football Traveling With Big Squad

Madison (WQOW) -- Wisconsin vs. LSU is one of the biggest games in college football this weekend, so big, in fact, the Badgers will have a larger than normal player contingent.

Usually, Wisconsin takes 70 players on road trips, but athletic director Barry Alvarez expanded that to 85 for this game.

"We're taking 85 kids because he allowed us to do that," says Badgers head coach Gary Andersen, "we're going down a day early because he allowed us to do that. I think it will be tremendous for this young football team to be able to get in the moment of travel, get on a plane today together, understand that. Spend a whole day together tomorrow and more forward. I'm just excited to go out and watch them play. It's fun to get to this point, round one coming at us. We're guaranteed a 12-round fight, so we're going to go out and fight like crazy in round one and see what happens."
