Young man sentenced to prison for beating man beyond recognition

Pepin Co. (WQOW) - A young man convicted of beating a man beyond recognition is going to prison.

Cody Angel, from Durand, was sentenced this week to three years behind bars. Angel and two others were accused of breaking into a man's Durand home last October and beating him with metal and wooden broom handles. Police, who knew the victim, did not recognize him due to the severe injuries to his head and face.

The other two suspects were sentenced earlier this year to three years in prison. All three have been ordered to share in paying for the victim's medical costs, estimated at more than $30,000.
