SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Calling all cubing masters! The Wiscube 2014 is on its way to Sun Prairie next weekend.
Josh Feran, 16, of Waunakee is hosting the competition at Calvary Baptist Church, Saturday, September 6. The event begins around 9 a.m. There will be seven cubing competitions during the day including a 3x3, 2x2, pyraminx, skewb, clock, megaminx and 6x6 or feet. Pre-registration to compete is a $9 entry fee, with a $1 for every additional event. Registration at the door is $11, with the same $1 charge for additional contest entries. A first, second and third place winner will be chosen in every category and be awarded medals.
Feran tells 27 News, he's been cubing for about three years. He averages 11-13 seconds on a standard Rubiks cube. The 16-year-old has appeared and placed in national and world Rubik's cube competitions. Feran also appeared on Good Morning America, showcasing his talents at the end of July.
