Eau Claire (WQOW) - Like a first place metal, HSHS Sacred Heart hospital proudly received a Gold Level Award Tuesday. The award was given to them by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
It was recognition for promoting organ donations throughout 2013-2014. Sacred heart held 11 different awareness events during that time. The events aimed to educate the staff and members of the community about the need for organ, eye and tissue donors.
"Recieving this award is truly an honor and I'm very proud of the committee for the hard work that we've all done together in reaching this goal," says Hailey Craig, a Surgical Technologist and Co-Chair Person of Organ Tissue Donation Committee.
Hailey Craig also said that this award has inspired them to keep raising awareness of the need for organ donations.
