Paper airplanes tossed onto ice at Chi-Hi hockey game in support of injured player
Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- There was an incredible show of support Tuesday for a local high school hockey player who was seriously injured in a car crash.
At the Chi-Hi hockey game a 'Messages for Mick' fundraiser was held. Mackenzie Caron, or Mick as he's known, was seriously injured after being thrown from a vehicle in a recent crash. According to his CaringBridge page, he remains in a coma.
Tuesday night, fans at the game bought pieces of paper for $2 each and wrote inspirational notes for Caron and his family. Notes were turned into paper airplanes and tossed out onto the rink during the game. All of the money raised, and the notes written, will be given to the Caron family.
