Eau Claire (WQOW) - RV's are no longer camping out at the bottom of peoples lists of luxury items to get.
WQOW spoke with the Marketing Coordinator of Highland Ridge and RV in Eau Claire. He says first quarter sales have been the strongest they've seen since 2006. He believes there are a couple factors at play. Part of it has to do with the way the industry has modified campers: making them more light-weight and easier to tow. He believes the main reasons are a stronger economy and lower gas prices.
"This is my fourth year on the show circuit and this is the most sales and the strongest first quarter that I've seen since I've been in the industry. And I've talked to many of the other sales reps throughout the industry and they're saying the same things and all the shows they work and I do work them nationwide, it's not just in the area," said Josh Streich, Marketing Coordinator for Highland Ridge RV.
The Eau Claire Sports Center hosted an RV show this weekend. Four major companies were there.
