Madison (AP) - A Wisconsin-based indoor water park chain is being sold to a private investment firm in New York City.

Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. announced Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Centerbridge Partners, LP. Although the terms of the deal haven't been disclosed, the company was purchased three years ago by Apollo Global Management for $798 million.

Great Wolf currently operates 12 indoor water park chains across the U.S. and Canada under the Great Wolf Lodge name. Another chain is under construction in California.

A spokeswoman tells the Wisconsin State Journal that the ownership change isn't expected to impact jobs in Madison, where the company's headquarters are located.

Great Wolf employs about 5,000 people nationwide, and roughly 250 people in Madison.
