Pierce County (WQOW)
- Charges were dismissed for a western Wisconsin woman accused of murdering her husband.

Patricia Kees, 69, from Ellsworth, was charged in 2015 with shooting her husband Dean 14 times. Investigators said she had to reload the gun at least three times to fire that many shots. They said she then went to a nearby bar and told customers what she had done.

The Pierce County district attorney asked a judge to dismiss the case last week. He told News 18 that Kees, who was earlier found to be not competent, has not improved, and is not expected to regain competency.

Pierce County (WQOW)
- A western Wisconsin woman accused of shooting her husband 14 times will not stand trial for murder anytime soon.

Patricia Kees, accused of killing her husband Dean and dragging his body from their Ellsworth home and leaving it in a nearby ravine, was in court Thursday. After hearing a psychiatrist's report, the judge found Kees is not competent to proceed or assist in her own defense. When detectives interviewed her, they said she gave vague and sometimes bizarre answers. Kees also believed the year was 2012.

The judge will now decide whether she should be held under a mental committment order.

Pierce County (WQOW) - Criminal charges were filed Tuesday against the wife of a Pierce County man who was found dead last week in a ravine near their home.

Patricia Kees showed up at a nearby bar Friday afternoon and told customers she had killed her husband Dean. Investigators found his body in a ravine near the couple's home, and said it appeared the man had been dragged there from inside the home. Patricia was charged with first degree murder and hiding a corpse.

Police said when Patricia was questioned, she believed the year was 2012. During the interview, she also gave vague and some times bizarre answers. Detectives said at one point she admitted shooting Dean, but gave no answer.

Customers at the bar, where she allegedly confessed, said she was known to have mental problems. Tuesday in court, Patricia's lawyer requested she undergo a competency exam.

Pierce County (WQOW) - Authorities are investigating a death in Pierce County.

On Friday, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office was called to a home off of Highway 72, near Ellsworth for a welfare check. They say when they got there, 60-year-old Dean Kees was found dead. They say autopsy results show he had been shot multiple times.

They say his wife, Patricia Kees, has been arrested in connection to her husband's death. News 18 did reach out to the sheriff's office Saturday. No other details are being released at this time.

The incident is still under investigation.
