Eau Claire (WQOW)- Local job candidates will get some help to put their best foot, and face, forward.
The Extreme Career Makeover program kicked off Wednesday awarding makeovers to three social media contest winners.
The contest winners received makeovers donated by Ravin' Manes Salon, along with professional clothes donated from Savers. The program was designed to help people in the area find jobs, while instilling in them business-ready practices to better prepare them for their careers ahead.
Creator of the program Renee Melton said The program started when local businesses were hiring but thought many people who applied were not well prepared for interviews.
"It's our responsibility as a business community to make change in our area," said Melton. "So from a business stand point, if we can help change somebody's career direction, even if it's just one person, that feels like a big impact to us,."
Extreme Career Makeover will be hosting three more events including a business job fair, a fashion show to learn how to dress professionally, and a community closet to provide business clothes for those in need. All events will take place on August 28th at Globe University from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be open to the public.
