Eau Claire City Council opens up proposed budget for public input
Eau Claire (WQOW)- The Eau Claire City Council is getting ready to vote on changes involving the 2016 budget, and members still continue to receive very little feedback from residents.
The city council brought the proposed 2016 budget up for public discussion Monday night, and had only one person comment in support of the budget. If passed, the budget would bring a $1 tax cut for the owner of a home valued at $150,000.
Other changes that could come with the new year is higher fees at Fairfax Pool. The proposed budget would raise single day passes to the pool by 25 cents, from $4 to $4.25. Season passes would go up for kids from $49 to $52, and adult season passes up from $60 to $64.
The council will also vote Tuesday on a possible sewer rate increase, which would bring rates up an extra $2.35 per quarter.
