Eau Claire (WQOW)- The Eau Claire roads could soon feature a little more red as two new fire trucks are to be added to the city's arsenal.
On Tuesday the Eau Claire City Council agreed to buy two new fire trucks to replace a pair made in 1987. The fire trucks cost a little over $400,000 a piece, bringing a price tag of just over $813,000 to the city.
The fire department expects to have them sometime in January.
City Council is also trucking forward with the Oxbow Hotel project. On Tuesday Council formally accepted a $500,000 grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to fund renovations at the former Green Tree Inn and Suites. The city is also extending a no-interest $250,000 loan to the project.
